WE WILL BE ANNOUNCING OUR SUMMER WORKSHOP DATES IN SPRING 2013.
Thank you for your patience!
Thank you for your interest in Style for Hire! Welcome to the registration page for our National Stylist Workshop and specialty Seminars.
What is Style for Hire?
Style for Hire is a national organization of the best personal stylists, handpicked by Style for Hire, certified by Co-founder Stacy London, from TLC's, "What Not to Wear" and trained in our client-centric approach. Once we invite stylists to join our company, we support them in many ways:
- local and national press
- clients, individual, corporate, and editorial
- retailer partnerships to bring discounts and VIP services for our customers and a range of benefits to our stylists
- a community of peers
- ongoing professional development
- a sophisticated website to help them run their businesses more efficiently
We're always on the hunt for people with experience in personal styling or expertise in a related field (costume design, fashion merchandising, personal shopping, etc.), a terrific eye, serious client-skills, and a passion for helping people feel great about themselves. As a Style for Hire Stylist, you'll work with people of all shapes, ages and budgets to help them find the look that's best for them. In doing so, you'll teach them how to dress their body-type, identify their most flattering colors and silhouettes, recommend where they should be investing vs. saving in-closet, and where and when to shop to maximize their wardrobe's value.
What is the National Stylist Workshop?
Our two-day workshop, designed and facilitated by Stacy London, celebrity guest speakers and subject-matter experts, is open to stylists from around the country. The workshop sets the standard for the personal styling industry, is ever-evolving as the product of an ongoing conversation with our participants, and is recognized by the trade and consumers across the country. This is an interactive environment, further enhanced by small group sessions to provide the opportunity to showcase each stylist's capabilities and receive constructive peer and trainer feedback. Stylists will leave the workshop with new friends, refined skills, and the opportunity to be selected for the Style for Hire network.
Upon completion, participants are evaluated and considered for Style for Hire certification. Selected Stylists will be able to access all the network has to offer. A subset of talented stylists will be invited to join as Apprentices. Apprentices will receive a custom development plan, and can shadow network stylists and assist on projects in order to gain full Stylist status. Once Style for Hire and the Apprentice's Regional Manager deems him/her ready, the Apprentice can start accepting client appointments on a probationary basis through our website.
- The Science of Styling (Day 1) practices body assessment and typing, silhouette-selection, color theory, and how to articulate your choices to the client. We also spend time on tailoring, the economics of the wardrobe and cost-per-wear / amortization.
- The Art of Style (Day 2) applies the Science from Day 1 using merchandise. Stylists participate in styling challenges, and get feedback from peers and Stacy.
Breakfast, lunch, snacks, and all-day beverages are included in the price of the Workshop. We are also pleased to host a celebratory cocktail party with Stacy London and the Style for Hire team at the end of Day Two.
What is the Personal Styling Tactics Seminar?
Designed by Stacy London and taught by Master Stylists, our personal styling workshop will teach you how to conduct effective closet audit, closet shop, and personal shopping appointments with your clients. You'll learn industry best practices and get tips on how to handle even the most sensitive client situations, with the help of client simulations and trainer, peer and client feedback. This one-day seminar can be taken alone or in conjunction with other workshops.
What is the Editorial Styling Seminar?
An essential workshop to develop your styling skills for runway and photo shoots, designed by Stacy London and taught by editorial experts. The focus is on styling for session work, including insider tricks and techniques. This one-day seminar can be taken alone or in conjunction with other workshops.
